Setup was easier then I expected. What they do not tell you is to run on 220 you have to purchase a new switch for around $32. I should have done this sooner. The only negative is the specs say the machine runs on 110 or 220. This DC is great machine for a small shop. It does take an extra set of hands to setup. Not a big deal BUT it would have been nice to know so I could have had the switch here when the machine arrived. I have used it with my planer and bandsaw and what a difference.
Seems to be a very good product. From using it on other woods I can only wish I had bought it sooner. Setup was not that hard but would recommend having a helper as it is a heavy piece of equipment. I am anxious to cut some MDF now that the dust storm will be contained.
Price was right and actually arrived before due date. Amazon is shipping out a replacement, but with so many reviews complaining about damaged units, They need to communicate with Delta regarding this issue. Motor had damage that was not caused by shipping( Styrofoam was pristene)and unit was completely unusable.
I found the cloth lined ring that is used for the plastic and filter bags very easy to install. I don't feel the need to wear headphones when using it. As many people have written, I can't believe I waited this long to get one. I was pleasantly surprised when after about 20 minutes I had the whole thing assembled and working. I was skeptical when I ordered this dust collector because of some of the reviews I read with regards to the difficulty of assembly.
The power of the unit is very good and is much quieter than my shop vac. I decided to take advantage of a good price on Amazon and take my chances. It did not take 2 people to assemble it, I did it without any help. I would recommend this product. As far as the dust collector goes I have only had it a short time but am very please with it so far.
Powerful dust collector, 1 micron bag is great. Runs great on 20 amp circuit though, together with other 1 hp or 2 hp equipment. Unit is pretty tall, barely fits in my 7' tall basement shop. Would not start up on 15 amp circuit, kept kicking the breaker out, even when no other equipment was running.
