Editorial Reviews:

Backed by 900 in./lbs. of driving power, the DeWalt D51844 Framing Nailer is ready to sink 2-inch to 3-1/2-inch long round head nails deep into even the toughest engineered lumber. A sequential action trigger and the ability to hold up to 65 nails at a time ensure fast performance for improved job site efficiency. And with a lightweight magnesium housing, an aluminum magazine, and a unique design that minimizes recoil while maximizing power, you can count on this tool to rest comfortably in your hands and to protect your body as it gets the job done. Quick and easy drive setting is right at you finger tips with tool-free adjustment, making it easy to ensure that nails are set flush, even when you're switching between projects, and a trigger lock-off lets you ensure that the trigger is disabled when the nailer is not in use for added safety. You can even count on this tool to protect itself: a dry fire lockout feature ensures maximum bumper life by preventing the nailer from operating whenever the magazine is empty, and a durable impact-resistant exhaust deflector prevents cap damage, ensuring better performance in the long run.

User Comments about the Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT D51844R Round Head 2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer

Lots of misfires, double shots, shooting out of the bottom of the gun etc. On one deck job shortly after I purchased this gun I came back from an errand to find the guys hand nailing the structure rather than use this gun. I really don't have anything good to say about the gun. I've owned this gun for a year and half. Lots of time wasted clearing jambs. enough said. The depth adjustment seems to constantly unlock at the wrong time disabling the trigger while something is being held in the air.

I'm not an experienced user of framing guns, but this things seems to work great. Although reconditioned, the tool looked like new.

but the safety lock is impossible to switch. I have to keep something handy to apply leverage.Still a great deal though. not at all like my finish nailer (from Dewalt).

I did this with a similar Portercable nailer. I bought refurbished and it looked brand new. As a do it yourselfer I buy Dewalt since their prices are decent. Bought this to make light work of a shed project. Comparatively speaking the Dewalt seems less finely tuned as a PC, but still feels sturdy.

I must admit I buy tools as I need them and try to sell some or keep as necessary. I thought I would never need it again. I should have kept the PC. The dewalt is a little rough around the edges, but it never disappoints.

It arrived in excellent shape and I am very happy with the quality especially when considering all the money I saved by purchasing a reconditioned unit. I have put up a 12 x 12 shed with this nailer and it worked great. This is my first framing nailer so I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I do know that I had no problems with this unit. I highly recomend this unit. It is a reconditioned unit.
