I bought this item as a gift for my husband's new hobby. My Husband did say the screw threads on the clamp handles are little rough, making them more difficult to use, but not a real problem for him. He likes them and has tackled a project that they have been useful in. I don't weld so I can't give a personal opinion on them.
Pay for real vice grips is my advice. The locking mechanisms on these is very cheap.
This is an exceptional value (Even with shipping costs). Delivered on time and works as advertised with no problems or issues.
I was expecting a set that was smaller, but these welding clamps are HUGE compared to what I expected, which is probably b/c they were made in china. I'm pleased with them
