Dressing the wheel is essential to efficient grinding and a simple wheel is the right tool to do it. Duct taping my shop vac nozzle just under the grinder wheel when dressing really helps. Although this tool is labeled "small", it is big and heavy enough to be easy to use, and is big enough to dress a 1" wheel. The wheel works much better than any abrasive dresser I have used, but be advised that it will tend to make a mess.
