Editorial Reviews:

Dont you just hate when reaching for the remote control and find out its not operating because the weaken batteries? How can we test the little battery for remaining power? How much longer can we use those batteries before replacing it? This little compact tester unit is the answer. Just hook up the battery and you have an instant answer.

User Comments about the Mastech BT558 Self-powered Battery Tester

I bought this product to test rechargeable batteries for my camera, wireless mouse, etc.Although the batteries were nearly depleted, this tester still detected voltage and indicated that the batteries were "GOOD".This tester doesn't detect *how much* remaining charge is in the battery. That provides a clear indication of remaining battery life. It just detects if *any* charge is left in the battery.Do you want to go out with 1/2 charged batteries and not know it. Check the specifications on battery testers to make sure they put a sample load on the battery.

I started using the Mastech BT558 Self-powered Battery Tester the day I received it, and after testing more than fifty AA, AAA, D-cell, 9-volt, and button-type batteries, I found it to be accurate as well as simple and quick to use.

As far as not being accurate goes I found that it isn't the battery checker that is the problem it is the gadget or whatever you are needing to replace the batteries in. One of them just broke and because we keep one down the basement and one upstairs we want to get another. These checkers are handy no two ways about it. They live forever in those cases, but the camera and our treadmills go through a lot of batteries that aren't really bad. I originally bought these at a hardware chain in Detroit over 20 years ago. For instance in my Nikon camera, when it just drains a small amount it is enough to make the camera not work. I am going to buy at least one more from Amazon. I got frustrated with this happening so now I put those batteries aside since they only show a slight drain and use them in clocks a small portable radios I use around the house.

It is a good toy but I received it black color instead of you post blue color online(THAT IS NOT HONEST BUSINESS).

This is the perfect size to keep anyplace I may need to check battery strength, car or home. Even a great price I keep one in each and highly recommend it to everyone.
