User Comments about the SK 74104 3/8-Inch Drive 10 Foot Pound to 100 Foot Pound Micrometer Torque Wrench

Met all expectations for the price, intended application range and ease of use.I would recommend it.

This isn't a Snap-on or Mac product but it does feel like its a quality piece and for the price is what I needed. I'd be pretty comfortable using it for any of the jobs I work on. I'm a backyard mechanic that wanted this mostly for valve adjustments, spark plug changes, and lug nuts.

I bought the SK to repace a cheapo wrench that could not be set accurately. Good wrench for the money when compared to others in this class. The SK has a solid feel, is easy to set and works great for the casual wrenching I do in the garage.

I set the wrench for an initial torque of the bolt at 14 foot pounds in order to torque it in two steps. In the advertisement for the wrenches they were advertised as having a lifetime warranty but when I recieved them the literature stated that the wrenches only had a one year warranty. The aluminum banjo bolts sell for about $15.00 a piece, so I was not going to take a chance on breaking another one. I tried the foot pound wrench out on an aluminum banjo bolt that called for a torque of 18 foot pounds. I purchased two SK torque wrenches.

I returned both wrenches. The model that torques from 10 to 100 foot pounds and the model that torques from 25 to 250 inch pounds. Both torque wrenches appeared to be of high quality and had easy to read sae/metric scales. To my surprise the aluminum banjo bolt snapped in half without and warning or indication that the wrench had reached the 14 foot pound setting let alone the higher 18 foot pound setting. Amazon did refund my money in full including shipping for the two wrenches. The aluminum banjo bolt was brand new so I doubt it was defective although there is always that possibility.
