Editorial Reviews:

Wrench removes and installs 14 flute, 65mm factory oil filters on late model Toyota Tercel, MR2, Celica and 1988 Camry. Use with a 3/8" drive tool or a 1" wrench.

User Comments about the K-D Tools 3253 End Cap Oil Filter Wrench

The only filter wrench to buy if you own a 5.7L Toyota engine from a Sequoia or Tundra and do your own oil changes.

This tool fits perfectly on the oil canister on our 2009 Toyota Sienna and on the oil filter on our 2007 (4 cylinder engine) Toyota Camry. I agree with "Chops" though, as the part is shorter in length than what the picture shows. You'll save over $40.00 buying it on Amazon compared to buying it elsewhere.

This new socket wrench is tight on the cartridge and all connections are very solid - it's a good quality tool and I highly recommend it. Filter cartridge on Toyota 3.5liter 6cyl engine requires a cap wrench to replace the oil filter. I have two cars with this engine ('08 Toyota Avalon & '08 Toyota RAV4) and I have gone thru 4 locally purchased cap wrenches to do 7 oil changes. Don't waste your time and money getting any of those other cheap Chinese-made sockets at local auto parts stores. Some failed because the poorly spot-welded rachet wrench attachment shears off, and others had a problem where the socket cup slips because it is a little bit too big for the filter cartridge.

The one that would go on would not come off after loosening one turn. On many of today's new motors, there is not enough room to get a deep-well wrench on the filter. All of the oil and grit is easy to see. That makes it easy to see, especially if dropped into a dark place. So, refusing to give up, I tried the K-D. They both failed.

Why is this good. That's all the grip that is needed. As far as I'm concerned, the rest of my oil cap wrenches are garbage. I'll buy only K-D - "Made in the USA" - from Amazon.Com. It fit perfectly. There are many pros to the K-D End Cap Oil Filter Wrench: It is bright, like polished stainless steel. The K-D is only 5/8ths of an inch deep.

I bought a whole set of oil cap wrenches in a pretty red case from Sears trying to save a few bucks. Try looking for a black wrench that has fallen into a dark engine well. One wouldn't even go onto the oil filter. It cleans up nicely. The wells were over 1 inch deep. You get what you pay for. For example, I bought two brands of oil cap wrenches trying to find one that would fit a 29-HP Kawasaki engine on a Scag Turf Tiger.

I highly recommend this product. This tools fits perfectly on the canister cover and will not slip. It is made with quality craftsmanship. I especially recommend it for any 07 - 08 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 owners.
