The jig is really for retrofitting or installing slides in pre-built cabinets. Accuride, KV, etc. Will not work in any shape or form for undermount slides like Blum Tandem. 2. The next thing to be aware of when using the jig to retrofit new slides into existing cabinets is that it will set the slide square and perpendicular to the face frame.if there's any irregularity in the face frame, it transfers to the slide.
4. For european 3/4 extension slides, be careful. Once you've identified this little issue it's an easy thing to adjust for, but it can add a lot of time re-adjusting slides if you don't figure it out. 1. Works absolutely fabulously for ball-bearing slides, i.e. Couldn't work any better. For undermount ball-bearing slides, again, works fabulously.5. Blum 3/4 extension slides in particular exhibit this problem.
If you're building from scratch do yourself a favor and mount the cabinet member of your slides pre-build. 3. All in all, a time-saver, worth the money, but as with all tools learn its limitations. If the roller of the cabinet member isn't perfectly flush with the edge of the slide, the jig will hold the slide slightly out of alignment from front to back.
Much easier than trying to measure where the slides should go. I won't ever go back to the old way. The drawers end up with less rocking because the rails are lined up better.
It worked sorta, not a real help but it was cheep.Just my 2 cents worth.
If it works with your slides, you may not actually "need" this gadget, but you will "like" this gadget. 'nuff said.
in your shop should work. Did need a little tweaking with the rear alignment, but that was because of my design. Worked well with the bottom mount slides on a 20 drawer face frame built-in. Magnets are strong and hold well. Would recommend. Did not get the Kreg clamp, almost any small clamp (C-clamp, quick grip, etc).
