I bought them because of the price - I must admit -- but the weight & quality has more than surprised me. You can spend 2, 3 or 10 times the $ if you want. I was so impressed that I went out and bought the standard set. They are as well made, clean & finished as one would expect from the brand name. My only real big job with them was driving about sixty ¾ inch lags - all 6 & 8 inches along with nuts on some heavy carriage bolts. May be these wouldn't hold up in a "full time" mechanic's tool box, but they're as good as 99 out of 100 average Joes would ever need. The two bits I used look like they were never used.
These are wonderful sockets - I only use them occasionally, but when I need them they fulfill their purpose with ease. I do recommend them for the occasional worker, but I do not have the experience of using them in a professional setting, so I cannot recommend/nor not recommend these for professionals in my good conscience.
A few weeks ago I needed a deep dish socket, so I went to autozone and it was 3 or 4$ for one deep dish socket. Well let me start off by saying who ever packed mine, did a terrible job. When I opened the box, all the sockets were all over the inside of the box, and one of the clamps on the case was broken off.Besides amazons poor packaging, the actual sockets are great. If i bought all of them individually at the store, I wouldent get a case, and I would spend at least 30$. The price is real good.
They are more than worth the money paid for them. While I'm fairly certain they don't actually make these sockets, the Porter Cable "name" is worth protecting. Porter Cable's name is on this package. Sure enough, these sockets are very good. These will last a long time. They are solidly constructed, legible, and well finished.
Porter Cable Deep Metric Socket Set.This socket set does not have a 15 MM. which is one of the most used socket on a modern car.
