The xantrex trampled over both of them. Working smooth so far.I bought a black decker, and a duracell before this to try out. 2 things to note: The fan's noise is "noticeable" but not loud; and you have to clamp directly to the battery if you wanna run anything bigger than an ordinary laptop (gaming laptops require higher wattages ,70w+). but 10$ more expensive, doesn't worth it.Highly recommended. Not much to say, been using this for a month or 2 to use my laptop at work (in my car). (The duracell's is actually made by Xantrex, check their website and u will see). So anything over 70w, the cigarette lighter plug can't handle it, doesn't matter what inverter/battery/car you have, end of story. The Duracell's has a led indicator to show wattz, amp, etc.
I use it to charge my cell phone to and from work, but have not used it in an emergency situation, yet.
But when I contacted Amazon and reported this problem, they quickly apologized and had a replacement sent out in 2 days. I was a bit dismayed when I first opened the product and tried it out. It was dead on arrival. The replacement works fine, and I was very pleased with the overall process. No power whatsoever.
This inverter worked as advertised. Unit is very quite inspite of the built-in fan. We used it on a long trip from Maryland to Toronto Canada. It kept all the laptops used by my kids powered up which kept them entertained on the trip to Canada and on the way back.
The inverter works as advertised and the priced is fair. I would recommend this product to a friend. I use it to run a laptop computer on my boat. The only negative is the noise produced by the fans.
