Throws more on the floor if cutting angle and less if cutting round solid rod. Have no idea about blade life but was told that slower cuts make for longer blade life. Tried this saw immediately upon arrival and was amazed. The end of the metal is cut so clean that it looks polished.it will be my first choice over my plasma torch if I need a clean cut. Just FYI. Had hoped it would collect a greater percentage of the cuttings but it seems to depend on what I'm cutting.
No longer, this is the best metal cutting device I have ever tried and I have tried them all. Getting true, square consistent cuts has always been tedious and difficult. I think this is the best one I have. My wife thinks I have every tool known to man. I do metal work for a hobby and a sideline. Blade lasts much longer than you would expect and if you set things up properly you will get a perfect cut every time. Highly recommended. Well worth the money.
Made the saw work properly and cut smooth and true. I was wrong, It is of the quality made famous by Milwaukee and will be used regulary. I wasn't expecting alot out of this saw as I didn't expect to be able to cut metal well at all with a hand held saw. The orignal blade that comes on this unit is not worth squat. I recomend it. I almost looked into returning the saw until I took a chance and put on a Morse blade.
Paid for itself on the first project. Very impressive. Zipped through solid 1/2" aluminum sheet material like it was plywood and was fairly quiet for what it does.
Works really nice for cutting light metal. Haven't used a lot so I not know about longevity. No distortion to materials.
