These bits are designed to reduce lock-up on breakthrough, and also feature a no-spin shank that eliminates the frustration of bit spinning in the chuck. Other features include a tapered web for greater durability and reduced breaking, and size markings are located above the shank to prevent wearing away. They come in a handy case that you won't always remember to put them back into. While they are free and out of the case they'll do good work for you though.
These bits are horrible, I can never get a clean cut with them, because the cut too fast. Go with something else and you'll be happier. The grab and pull themselves through the wood more like a screw than a drill bit. Forget about using them for any kind of metal (you'll end up with a ragged chewed up hole that is totally unacceptable).
these bits are very hungry to chew through just about anything, all though i haven't had the chance to test out the pilot point yet i'm sure they will work well enough. only problem i have with this set is the case which works well but the biggest two bits are very difficult to remove and replace, but other then that they are great.
Great bits, work good in my dewalt cordless drill. The case they come in is worth the price alone.
This is the second set of these bits I have purchased; the first set disappeared from a job site. But still a very good product. After I got this set from Amazon, I saw similar/same set at Lowes for a few bucks less: I was surprised.
