We had a problem with the hole sizes being too small but with dad's help my eight year old proudly built his boat. Good value for the price (we paid 12.99 on amazon in decemeber 2008) He even "sailed" it in the tub.
Purchased for my 9 year old son - who makes sailboats out of anything he can find. Everything you need is included and it's a great quality boat. This kit was perfect for him. He did it all by himself, and it actually sailed in the pool.
I actually bought this toy for my Father "89" to make for his great-grandsons. The product itself was well-made, the sail, however, fragile and easily torn. I thought that the age reccommended of 6 years would be appropriate for him and that we could do the project together. I think the instructions were a little vague and the photos were not as helpful as they could have been.
This Item was great it came with all the tools you need to build the sail boat. This toy was fun for all. Me and my son had a great time together building it, or I guess it was more like watching him build it with minor help from me. Next I think we are going to paint it.
