Editorial Reviews:

Remember how cool we all thought that first Dremel was? We're reliving the feeling with this one: lighter, faster, smarter, better, and stronger. The main improvement over the last generation is the battery source: lithium-ion. There are so many reasons to applaud. Lithium holds its charge up to six times longer in storage than nickel-cadmium batteries, so it's ready when you are. Remember the disappointment when you were ready and your battery was low? That won't happen with this one. It's got a battery fuel gauge that tells you how much life is left before a recharge, so you won't be caught without your Dremel, and if you choose to keep it on its charger, you won't cause memory and shorten the charge capacity. It's small, it's light, it's comfortable and maneuverable; it's everything the corded models are, but without the cord. We love it.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

User Comments about the Dremel 8000-03 10.8-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Rotary Tool

Its easy to handle. It does heat up, after long periods of use, but its not that bad and it hasn't broken down yet. So far no problems with it. I've used it for half an hour to an hour straight. The speed control is very handy. One thing I'd suggest when purchasing this, is to get a spare battery, because once you start working with it, you don't want to put it down. It's that good.I've used it for polishing up brass and cutting pipes.

My husband received the Dremel as a Christmas gift and has enjoyed learning to use it. He especially likes the cordless feature of this product.

You have to be careful not to let too much heat build up while you are working on your little buddy's nails. I'm still doing a lot of trial-and-error on that front. It would be nice if they coded them somehow and provided a list to identify their intended use. I got this for small jobs and to trim the dog's nails. 2) Attachments aren't clearly labeled in any way as to what their intended purpose is.

By the way, before I go any further, if you are getting this for your dog's nails, please look at the advice of "Dober Dawn" here:[.].That should help you understand how to properly use your Dremel for that purpose. I recommend the Dremel far more than the cheap imitators that you can buy at the pet store or "as seen on TV" because unless you have a very small dog, those just don't do the trick.I have also used the Dremel for some light sanding, engraving (tricky to do without looking sloppy) and to drill some quick pilot holes (very convenient). This particular cordless unit has plenty of power and battery life for every task that I can imagine so far. In fact, I find myself looking for new tasks that I can use my Dremel for.The only down sides that I have experienced with the Dremel are: 1) Changing out tool attachments isn't exactly an obvious procedure, and their documentation isn't terribly clear.

Im a tool man, so this is very usefull , i will buy it again , and again.

This is a great product. I would advise anyone looking for a tool like this to buy one of this model. It is much better than my old cordless Dremel, mostly due to the Lithium Ion battery & smaller size.
