User Comments about the Grizzly H3051 6" Extension Block Kit

I recommend this to anyone wanting to expand their saw. I researched the internet and found that Grizzlies would fit my saw. I purchased a Ridgid 14" Bandsaw and wanted to have the capabilities of Resawing larger wood. I ordered it and had it with-in 5 days. Thanks Grizzly JMG (gallman woodworking) After removing from the box I had it on and back running in a matter of 30 minutes.Everything fit as though it was made for my saw.

This is a great way to make a small saw do some big work. Becareful what blade you use you may not have enough hp to cut efficiently.

RIDGID offers a riser kit but it costs 3 times as much.It bolted up without any issues; the alignment pins matched right up and the blade guide assembly fits the new shaft without problems. I just thought the green block looked funny on a silver saw. Obviously this was a purely cosmetic task. As with several of the reviews here, I have this kit installed on a RIDGID bandsaw. The blade that comes with the kit is nothing to get excited about though--it's just your average cheap spring steel blade and it's thin and flimsy. I have a stout 3/4" blade on there for resaw work now. Before installing, I hit the block with some steel wool and a shot of silver spray paint to match my saw's frame.

All the parts were there. It went together well. Delta and Jet riser blocks are twice the price. It is best not to install this without help. One of the reasons I went with Grizzly is because parts are cheaper, and this one is no exception. I picked this up at Grizzly when I bought the saw. The saw is well aligned and works great. And this one comes with a 105" blade. I had a friend present to help with the heavy lifting.

The "holes" on the riser did not align with locator pins on the saw. The diameter of the shaft for the upper blade guide was to large. cold rolled steel from a local hardware store.I had no complaint regarding shipping time.5 stars because it worked out as well as it did for a brand it wasn't meant for. First off I'm using the riser kit on an old "Summit" 14 bandsaw, it's a Taiwanese knock-off. So, I replaced it with a length of 3/4" dia.

The saw has 2 locater pin's joining the upper and lower wheel assemblies. The pins on the top of the riser fit perfectly in the upper arm of the saw. I had to drill out one hole 1/16 of an inch larger in dia. to get it to fit and line up.
