I found this product to perform as advertised at Amazon. The price I paid was very fair. Its works very well for smaller jobs.
MT 800 J Hand Sander System works pretty good for the price. You will still get some dust, but not nearly as much. It would be difficult and tiring to use this for an entire room, but it works great for small jobs where you don't want the messy dust.
Having this in my tool arsenal seriously lowers the barrier to getting my (considerable) drywall projects finished, making it much more likely that I start on them in the first place. I couldn't be happier with my Sand and Kleen system. I no longer have to wear a dust mask or seal off a room when doing drywall sanding. It's a great product. It works as advertised and doesn't gum up my vacuum filter, either.
This is a great product. The only negatives are the sanding mesh leaves scratches which need to be sanded with regular sandpaper and it makes a lot of noise when not sanding. There was very little mess compared to standard sandpaper.
The 10 foot hose was limiting. I would recommend using damp drywall sander/sponges with beveled sides (for the inside corners). This item is more suited to a smaller project. While this device trapped most of the dust it collected, it did not collect it fast enough to be worthwhile for me. The sander easily took up strips of paper off the wall with out to much effort. This items are even better used dry. Perhaps a larger vacuum would have improved performance.
