This is the best miter saw stand made,do not buy it's little brother by mistake. 30 years in the trades, have not seen a better one yet.you wont be disappointed-HEAVY-DUTY
I have an older Hitachi Chop sw and the unit worked perfectly. Other than that I am very pleased. The only issue was I required an additional bolt for a 4 hole anchoring which was required on the unit, unlike the customary 3 hole anchoring, to which they furnish the hardware. Hopefully they start including this mounting bolt in future kits.
The unit is nice but the shipping was a challange to receive it took a week for them to process the order
Workstation is awesome but the directions how to put together is not easy to understand recommend go to TracRac site and download directions much betterand easier to understand
Don't plan on manhandling this stand with a heavy saw attached such as a Bosch 10" compound slider. The instructions are poor but what do you expect from China. I can't believe the manufacturers have not provided a handle for this stand. The wheels are small and narrowly spaced.
Go on line and download the manual from TracRac. In the legs-closed rolling mode it's top heavy and if you get that momentum going it's hard to stop it from turning over especially since you have no handle to give you any control or leverage. Make sure the cam locks holding the saw are tightened securely or the saw can slide down the channel when you are rolling it. Aonther idea I have been toying with is putting larger, wider spaced wheels on it. The rest of the stand works very well, and as I said, is heavy duty. This thing is heavy duty.
They roll fine over fairly rough ground but if you hit a hole an inch or two deep the narrow wheel spacing can and will cause the whole thing to flip. The holes are already there at both ends to attach a simple handle that would make it so much easier to maneuver. I agree that the assembly is rather fussy and time consuming and could have been made easier. That would help stability a great deal while rolling the stand. That's why the wheels are so important but there's a catch. I will be devising my own soon.
Once this thing is set up and in use it is an excellent stand and a beast. I think there is enough room and it would only require a slightly longer axle.
