unlike the other reviewer, it works fine. but after researching other stud finders at stores and online, this is the best bang for the buck. the product is a bit large and there is no off button so if you throw it into the toolbox, it tends to beep.
According to it, the stud edges are about 6 inches apart. I tried finding stud on a drywall. I could verify that readings were totally off. Luckily I had access to a wall where I could see the studs from one side. This stud finder is completely useless. In fact they are only 1.5 inch apart. I hope that I got a defective unit and it is not a problem with every unit. The readings varied each time.
