It's an adjustable wrench, pretty straight forward.Good quality, looks nice (first point is more important than the second, but there it is).It adjusts and holds its size better than other tools by major manufacturers that I've used in the past.Although I haven't used the grip in wet or cold environments, I imagine it would suit better in both of those situations. Review cross-posted to cover the different sizes I've used (6", 8", & 10"). As it is, having the grip helps provide a better feel, if not more torque.
A really nice wrench compared to the simple forged all-metal ones. Also provides some extra grip in wet situations. Very ergonomic and nice to hold.
Otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. It does what it is supposed to do. There is nothing truly special about this wrench. The grips are comfortable, the size scale could be of use in some circumstances and there is very little play in the adjusting mechanism. This review also applies to the 6 inch version of this wrench. I have not had the opportunity to test its strength or durability.
This wrench is comfortable to grip, easy to set to nut size, and solid enough for the residential weekend handyman. All in all, a good wrench at a very reasonable price.
Since I didn't own any tools, I didn't have to replace any with Stanley's maxgrip line. These tools are more comfortable in the hand like OXO good grips items.
