I recommend Stanley's max grip line for comfort and non stressful dropping of the tool.
I have had my set for a few years, and wouldnt trade them for anything. The biting part of the tool is made of several layers of metal, all bolted together. These have an excellent grip. Combine that with a soft rubber grip, and you have some awsome grabbing power. Buy these pliers, and you will throw your old slip-joint pliers away. Plus, they are self adjusting, so no need to use the other hand to open them up to a larger size.
The self-adjusting part of these pliers is very cool. The unusual shape gives me the ability to add more pressure than the standard sets I have and used. The rubberized handles give cushion and grip and the bite is outstanding. I bought both the 6" and the 8" after my 8" pair was lost, and am extremely happy with them. But the grip and the comfort are outstanding. I obviously have been won over by these an am looking at the other Stanley hand tools. After using these I would regret having to use my cold metal set.
