I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my husband, who has a serious amount of wood trim to make over the next few months. I'm glad to know he'll be working in a safer environment, now that he has this unit. He has installed the unit and used it a few times, and is pleased with it. He says it's quiet, and cleans the air very well.
I wish we would have bought one years ago. First machine experienced a shipping problem and was banged up a little when it arrived, notified Kentec and they shipped a new one no questions asked. basement with NO exterior access, worked great to control all dust. If you want to keep the air clean while working this is the product for you. This product works very well.
Kentec was a great customer service oriented business to work with. We are a high end general contractor, that specializes in finished basements. Got this machine in time for trimming out a 1500 sq. This is a fairly heavy machine but portable, it could use some better packaging to prevent dents and dings. ft.
I did have one issue with the product as received and cost me about and hour to trouble shoot and figure out the problem. I had to shroud the receiver eye on the unit from direct light in order for the remote to function properly. So far this seems like a good unit. I think this will be a good purchase. I just mounted it and have not had a chance to use it much but am confident it will clean the air as expected. One other issue I discovered was that florescent lights affect the remote control. After a little investigative work I figured out that the switch in the power cord had a bad solder connection.
Moves a lot of air and should do a good job in my wood shop. When plugged in for the first time the unit did not receive power. I let you know more in a few months. I re-soldered the connection and it is now working fine.
No dings from UPS but the fan was out of kilter and rubbed the side of the housing. The box was fine. I really like the concept but I need the unit to work. I put into amazon for a relplacement and will try one more time. I was really excited to get this but it arrived defective. My carpenter tried to fix it but it was too far gone to address. The replacement process with amazon was very easy to do online. Delta seems to really have some quality issues.
I do not think it is very accurate because new out of the box the gage shows that the cleaner almost needs a filter change.I almost did not buy the unit because of comments about damage occuring in shipping. The air cleaner works well. I especially like the timer, it can be set to run for 1/2 hour or longer and then shut off automatically. Thankfully my cleaner was not damaged at all. I set the timer to better clean the air after doing some work and do not have to return to shut the cleaner down.The gage on the side of the unit is supposed to show when the filters are getting clogged.
