I decided, for the price, the Fisker axe/knife sharpener was worth a try. Using the Fiskar sharpener as needed should reduce the number of times you have to take your knives to a professional. I didn't give it 5-stars because that would have been equivalent to the results of a professional knife sharpener. My Tools of the Trade set of knives were not really sharp when I bought them and I couldn't get an edge with the sharpening steel that came with them. Glad I did. I also have the Fiskars Pro Chopping Axe #7858 with which I'm satisfied. It has sharpened everything I've used on it.
Handy size and safe shape. That is sharp enough for me. Clever design to keep clean. Used it on my axe which now slices a single piece of paper on edge.
In 20 passes, your knife should go from dull to sharp. So easy to use. Works OK with larger blades, like the Fiskars axes too.
This item is terrific. It does a good job sharpening everything, from axes on down to knives.
Highly recommended - I use it after each time I use my axe to keep it sharp.
