If you are looking for a good solid saw that won't break the bank, this could be your saw. doesn't have a brake, so keep that in mind while using. It is much better than those $40 saws at the box stores, and fairly close to the higher end $150 saws.
It cuts straight and doesn't jump around much. I have used it to cut 2 inch thick boards as well as 4 inch thick boards. I bought this saw during an Amazon sale, and it was a great value. While the 4 inch think boards require 2 cuts, it cuts through them like a champ. Great saw for the money. While the guard occasionally catches, this is a common problem with all circular saws.
But perhaps that's petty for this price. It's a great and very dependable saw at a fantastic price. The only gripe is that it doesn't come with a rip fence. I don't need a saw enough to buy a Makita and if you're just an occasional cutter like me then this is a great choice. My last saw came with one.
I purchased this saw mainly on price. Good for do-it-yourselfers. I have used them before but they lack the the solid feel of the makita,and the motor sounds funny. At any rate this saw is average.
I was looking for a decent saw on ebay and they were all beat up or going for too much money. The blade adjustments work great, it has a heavy duty plate,Im very satisfied.It was reconditioned, but it seems brand new.GREAT SAW. So i thought about getting one at wal mart or sears or somewhere for 40 - 70 bucks and a friend said to check amazon, so i did BINGO. Wow a good saw with lots of power good balance and light.
