User Comments about the Skylink WS-100/WS-100N Wireless Remote Control, Channel A

I use this to turn carport lights on and off from a distance of about 80'. You need to hold it down for about a half second so the relay can open or close the switch. It works even through a plywood wall and a metal door. One note: It may not work if you just quickly "punch" the button.

It is great if you want to turn on and off something which doesn't have its own switch or the switch is inconveniently located. The remote is very small and light, and convenient to carry. I haven't owned it long enough to know what the battery life is going to be like in the remote. It always works and the price is great. You can hear a clicking sound from the receiver when it activates (probably from a relay). I use it to turn on and off my train layout. This device allows you to turn on and off any device.

The remote has a small hole at the top so you can put a lanyard in it to keep the remote handy. I use it only for short distances of up to 40 feet and it works perfectly. You plug the receiver into an outlet and then plug the device you want to control into the receiver. I would definitely recommend it. The plug and cord on the receiver is short so it will hang from a wall outlet.

After seeing problem reviews with the clapper, bought this instead. I am hoping to find a channel "B" one and use it for backyard Christmas lights this fall. Works as it says and I don't have to listen to my sweetie "clapping" after I've already gone to sleep.

I get pretty sick of getting home from work every night and walking around the room turning on and off the lights, one by one. I've had them for almost a year now and I haven't had to replace the remote battery either. The remote even works after our puppy chewed it up. My living room is pretty big (24 x 19) and has 0 overhead lights. Now I can push a button before I even pull in the driveway and the lights are on to greet me. I recommend if you don't want to spend your time walking around your living room. I currently have 2 in the room and sometimes if I barely tap the button the lamp closest to me will only work, but that's an easy fix.

Installation was very simple. Seems to do everything it claims. The product is working very well.
