This thing gets the job done. A++ A must own for the basic handyman to a pro.
I have had this drill for 4 months and i haven't had any problems with it. Thank You DeWalt for making a fine product, and thank you most of all AMAZON for the GREAT PRICE. I would recommend this drill to anyone.
Larger drills seemed just too heavy for me to handle. system. As with most DeWalt products, it is rugged and well-built. After using the drill for 2 days on a decking job, I was quite surprised how easy it was to handle and how long the batteries held up. I have used DeWalt drills for a long time now, but because of artiritis in my hands have not gone beyond the 12V. I purchased the 18V. I just hope the batteries last a good while as replacements are very expensive. system because the price was terrific.
I'm still running off of the first charge on the first battery. I haven't used it a lot yet but so far I've had no issues with it. I like the easy to use chuck. I like the torque. I purchased this Dewalt to replace an old Crapsman I've been unhappy with for a long time. I like the smart charger. It seems to be a solid, well made tool. Not only CAN you leave the spare battery on the charger, it's recommended you leave it on the charger to keep the battery's charge balanced.
The drill is very simple to use, but if you are more visual and don't want to to read instructions - this is a quick way to see what it does, and how to use it. This drill is light and feels great in the hand. And I never used to bother with speed controls on my drill before.Have fun with it. Love this drill. The speed control is very good too.
We made a video manual for similar DeWalt 720KA drill on HandBookLive.com (under Tools). In my opinion the video is more useful for woman like me, who want to feel more comfortable using a drill for the first time (I remember using a screwdriver forever because I just wasn't so sure what kind of damage I can do with an electric tool). We bought it when we decided to build a loft and didn't want to use our cheap drill for such a big project. We use it all the time for quick fixes around the house.
