These clamps are for light duty work only. They show all the quality of a Bessey product. They dont have a huge amount of clamping force but they are easy to manipulate and light enough not to be a menace in the workshop. I use them for clamping trim pieces furniture and cabinetry in the workshop, but there are lots of other uses of course.
Easy to use, light weight, and they hold very well. I guess the light weight is the biggest advantage. I bought a pair of the 8 inch and a pair of the 12 inch. Of all the clamps I have acquired over time, these are now the ones I reach for first.
They are not heavy duty as they'll only apply about 300 pounds of pressure, but that's adequate for most needs, like clamping a piece of wood down to the bench so you can work on it. These clamps are very light weight, quick acting, easy to apply the pressure and easy release. It's easy to vary the pressure according to your needs. Highly recommended. There is a removable plastic pad on the fixed jaw that snaps on and off easily and underneath the metal is scored to ease the clamping of round stock.
In the case of clamps, that's why there are so many types and sizes; good results depend on selecting the right clamp for the particular job at hand. The KliKlamp falls into the category of quick, one-handed, convenience clamps. They're certainly not cheap, but the do several jobs better than anything else I have. They really stand out for clamping down cutting guides for circular saws and routers. I haven't had them long enough to know how well they'll wear, but they seem to have the same high quality that all Bessey clamps have. It's important to realize that, like any other piece of equipment, these clamps have limitations, and you have to live within those limits. The Bessey KliKlamp is an excellent clamp.
Their low profile prevents them from interfering with the tool as you go along the guide.I think the KliKlamp is well worth the money. It offers a great combination of deep throat capacity, high clamping strength, compact size, and light weight. They are NOT heavy-duty production clamps. I'm happy with the value, and I'd buy them again if I had it to do over. I've found them incredibly handy for quickly securing a workpiece to a bench, holding small pieces for gluing, etc.
When you need a handy quick way to add a little or a lot of pressure to hold your project together during clue up or assembly, this is the product you need. These are a MUST have for every workshop. I have several sizes of Bessey quick rachet clamps and use them on every project. I use my other clamps as a last restort.
