User Comments about the Milwaukee 48-66-1015 1/4-Inch Self-Releasing Collet and Locking Nut Assembly

The Milwaukee's have much less runnout than the PC's. Amazon was the first source that came up. I thought I'd see what I could find online as I could always use a spare. I have several Milwaukee routers and several Porter Cable. They seem to run a little quieter too.I needed a 1/4" collet, no one had one in town. I ordered the collet and it was in my hands - in Candada mind you - in two days. The collet is great, but I'm really blown away by Amazon's service. I ordered one from a tool repair shop, the delivery was going to be a couple of weeks.

it is what it is - it works as expected - can't get overly excited. it's a 1/4" collet

I needed the 1/4" collet for my 3 1/2 hp milwaukee for some of the smaller bits I use. It works well as do all milwaukee products.

This item appears well made and functioned well for the limted time of usage since purchase. Just a warnning do not use this collet for prolonged time because the prior collet shatter after prolonged use when removing a bit.

Like another reviewer's, my collet was shipped from the factory assembled improperly, with the collet inserted backwards in the locking nut. I was quite nervous about reversing the piece without damaging the brand-new parts, but they are basically pressure-fitted, and can be removed and reinstalled with a pair of (strong) bare hands. Now it works fine, although I find installation of bits more of a nuisance than with my Bosch router. Ridiculous.
