User Comments about the Pur Ultimate FM-8100 Faucet Mount Vertical Filtration System, Chrome

It is coming out of a very small hole, not a fuacet so it is not going to run like a faucet. the replacement filter is about $17, so if something does go wrong with your unit. I have read many reviews trashing this product, but HEY, it's $25. The important thing is the STUFF THAT IT REMOVES SO THAT YOUR WATER IS PURE. my family is very serious about our water,& before the filter we could smell chlorine in the water, but this filter removes the chlorine.

I do not have ANY problem whatsoever with water flow. We use ours everyday to fill up coffee pot, tea pot, cooking pans, etc. & this is what I like. a brand new one only cost a few bucks more. Very nice.

No problem with the flow. GREAT PRODUCT if you are spending $25 for a filter & expecting it to act like it's a $150 filter you are in error.

Don't waste your money on this device. I've never been more disappointed in a device, what's the point if you have replace both the filter AND the faucet mount every time the filter runs out. It doesn't last past the first filter, as putting a replacement in apparently causes all of the seals to fail, and the ergonomic design means the water leaking out of the filter indicator that is unfiltered mixes in with the filtered water coming out of the device, so that you, at best, get slightly cleaner water, but not filtered.

It wasnt bad at first but then it just got worse with time. But since it does a good job we've kept it. I bought this filter about a year ago. We just dont turn the filter all of the way down and keep the water flow low, so it takes SO LONG to get a glass of water. The water flow didnt bother me at first, but after a week the window indicater started to leak. It's too much to buy filter after filter if they will all end up the same way. I have to clean it all of the time because of the nasty stuff filtered out builds up around the window and the bottom piece where it twists on started to mold.

It does a great job, I can taste a huge differance. Now, more water comes around the window than through the filter. I'v been looking at water pitchers just to have a less time consuming way of getting clean water. I looked up the filter and found that it's a common problem with this model.

It's a $30 filter that I bought for her to have clean water. I am extremely disappointed in Tarsal for not taking care of their customers. Any now after asking for the refund, which has yet to be credited, they have the nerve to ask for the original boxes back, still accussing her of lying. The seller then accused my mother of lying. "I ordered this unit for my mother.

I'm having my mother email me her scanned copy of the receipt from the store she had to go to just to get a complete working water filter. She received only the bottome portion of it in one box and in the 2nd box was only a pen and not the rest of the filter. We order all the time from Amazon and we have never had any problems. I'm the Supervisor of Customer Service at a very large National retail store and we most certainly do not take care of our customers this way." I want the money credited back to my account immediately.

You'll find at Pur's website that the Pur Ulitmate is NSF certified to effectively filter 28 contaminants listed in NSF Standard 53, whereas some competing products, including a popular disposable model that doesn't use cartridges, claim certification for less than a third of those. But the important part is that this filter really does its job. After all, I won't be needing it for washing dishes or taking a shower. It's very easy to install, and it seems more durable than an older generation Pur faucet-mount filter I had that developed leaks after a while. I can fill up my 12-cup coffee carafe in under a minute, and I don't mind taking a couple of extra seconds for the peace of mind that I'm drinking cleaner, safer water. The chrome look of this unit is quite nice and really does look like chrome (doesn't look cheap like some other metallic plastics), matching chrome fixtures nicely. I'm sure there are truly comparable filters out there, but check the specs before you buy. This one has been working for almost a year with no leakage at all. Flow rate seems reasonable to me.
