If you can pre-cut all the lumbar it make it much easier to assemble. I used it for the garage, and with some imagination you can set it up to the exact dimensions you wish. This set comes with everything needed but the wood to make a rather sturdy work bench. The website also gives lots of good ideas on how to optimize it to your own requirements. Fantastic product for the cost. I love this thing and it was rather easy to put together.
I added peg board to the shelf, a heavy duty power strip, and also a flourescent light. I built my bench 3'x6' and built a hutch style single shelf 24 inches high in the rear. My bench is extremely solid as is. Some of the reviewers have stated they were having issues with stability when using the included hardware, but I didn't have any issues. I just built my work bench yesterday and was impressed with the kit. Below my hardwood work surface I used OSB to save alittle cash for the bottom two shelves. I drilled pilot holes and then used an impact driver to drive the screws and my bench is rock solid. In total I spent around $150 on lumber and the other additional items I added.
One is set up as a narrow reloading bench and the other as a car parts and everything else with a large vise mounted at one end. This will be the 3rd 2x4basic work bench when I get it assembled. I like them because they are easy to build and configure to your needs. I plan to build this third bench as a large uncluttered work surface, that has storage underneath. The first two are configured in different lenghts and widths.
Easy to build with basic mechanical skills. Excellent quality and I have two other friends with the same product because they liked it so much. I built mine 7' long and 3.5' deep and mounted a bench vise which is very strudy.
BEWARE. Their response lacked empathy to my ruined Christmas present and curtly replied that it was on back order and nothing could be done. This company is the worst and lacking greatly in customer service department. I am still waiting for my order and sportsman guide could care less. I buy everything on Amazon (even have a rewards card because i purchase so much) I never have i encountered a company who is less helpful. I contacted seller and explained that i ordered this product well in advance to reach me in time for Christmas. and still have not received as of the 30th of Dec.
I advise you to purchase from any other seller than this one. I ordered my 2 x 4 basics on the 28th of Nov. Again i have never received such poor customer service and would highly recommend using another company than this one. Was told order would be shipped by the 14th of Dec., but they have yet put my 2x4 basics in route.
