These bits are designed to reduce lock-up on breakthrough and also feature a no-spin shank that eliminates the frustration of bit spinning in the chuck. Other features include a tapered web for greater durability and reduced breaking, and size markings are located above the shank to prevent wearing away. So, first, I am a mechanical engineering student, so I know a thing or two about mechanics, and this set is a steal, but you must know what to use them for, for titanium is not ment to be used with soft materials such as low carbon steel, aluminium and such (goes trough them like a hot knife into butter and probably damaging the material or getting stuck), for wich you should use HSS or even Cobalt drill bits, but for stronger materials, such as machinery grade steel, stainless steel and some other strong alloys, so if you use them for what they were designed, this is one GOOD set of drills.
My first assortment of bits in various sizes for my dewalt drill. So far so good.
These bits work great, I usually buy them from Home Depot but they were cheaper here. The pilot point is great for starting the bit where you want it.
Great price for the quality of the bits. Willard Mast I would definitely buy another set if needed.
They screw themselves right through the material being drilled instantly without completing the hole. When they break through to the other side of the material being drilled they will screw themselves right down to the chuck and if your hand is near any part of the piece being drilled you can get your fingers smashed. You have to be very careful with these bits. I thought this was a quirk in my first set but when many of them broke I bought a second set. They are very difficult to hold back and prevent this from happening. Same problem.
