User Comments about the CST/Berger 60-ALQCI20-O 5/8-Inch 11-Threaded Flat Head Tripod

Mine came with bent legs so i returned. even so this tripod is light weight junk.

I understand that I didn't choose several of the higher priced ones. I feel uncertain about placing a $1000 laser on top of this. The top is cast and the finish is not impressive. I got this to use with a new laser level as my old one has vanished. it's hard to tell the difference online. If you are a professional in the building trades, my suggestion is to get something more substantial. This is VERY light and the leg extensions slide through plastic guides.

I fitted a threaded 2-inch diameter pipe nipple to a floor mount, drilled holes in it and the tripod and bolted the two together permanently. I am very pleased with the unit and expect the tripod to give me many years of trouble-free service. The tripod is light, just as easily collapsed and includes a handy strap to tie the legs together and sling the tripod over a shoulder for transport. We are full-time RV'ers and I wanted an easy-to-use tripod for my HD satellite dish. "Steps" on each leg allow the pointed tips on each leg to be stabbed into soil and quick-release levers on each leg permit the nipple on the tripod to quickly be made vertical, essential for mounting the satellite dish. Since these dishes are good sized, I use a screw-in dog tie-down and a stout shock chord to anchor the tripod, preventing the tripod from being toppled by winds, damaging the dish.

Great for occasional use. The quick clamp legs adjust easily and stay where you set them. This tripod has everything you need to get to work. This is an inexpensive tripod that I would not use for everyday use on a construction site, as I do not believe it would hold up to heavy use. As with all tools, take care of you tools and they will last., throw this item in the back for you truck and the clamped legs will likely break off. But for a small project and with care, this will hold up for many years of use.
