They reduce cadmium, cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, mercury, asbestos, copper, zinc, and sediment 96 to 99.99 percent; plus lessen chlorine levels and discoloration.

PUR’s filters are made with activated carbon to reduce chlorine and sediment, and include an ion-exchange resin that helps eliminate lead and copper. For best results, filters should be changed every 40 gallons. While PUR filters rid water of many chemicals, coloration, and bad flavors, they do not soften water or remove fluoride. i bought this from amazon for $22, but later saw this at walmart for $14.99

I have been using the same filter for about 4 months, drinking about 16-24 ounces of water a day, and the filter continues to work as great as it did the first day. No cause for complaint.

I purchased this like a week ago and i must say the filter does its job. I've seen the pack of 3 filters for only 14.99, so I wont purchase them from Amazon.I am a amazon costumer for years now and i ALWAYS order from Amazon but lately i have been very dissapointed when i found out that i paid more than I should with severall items. Water tastes wonderful, very smooth i simply love it.Be aware that the price is better at Walmart.

Been using these for a couple of years now, and my only complaint is that sometimes they take 12 -24 hours to filter one gallon of water - and although one might expect that as the filter got dirty it would clog up and slow down, it seems completely arbitrary - one filter will get that slow after 2 days use, while another might take 2 weeks, and yet another will never slow down, and I'll just change it because it's time. I asked customer service about this when I first started using them, and they said to take it out of the the pitcher and shake it up, but that does nothing.Still it's a better deal than bottled water, so until I hear of a better one, I guess I'll keep using them. So, probably 8 out of 10 times I'm changing the filter before it should be needed because I can't stand to wait so long for it to do it's job.

This type of Pur filter have served us very well in a water-stand dispenser for the past few years. We're very pleased. These replacement filters were offered at an unusually good price, and they arrived within just a few days.
