User Comments about the Makita BO4552KX 1.6 Amp 1/4 Sheet Sander with 15 Sheets of Sandpaper

I actually have two of these now. Velcro).Well worth the money. I use them so often, that I have 180 grit on one and 220 grit on the other. The first one is about 10 years old, the second is the newer generation like the one shown. They're fairly quiet, comfortable to hold (a lot of vibration makes your hand go numb- not with these)., and heck, they even look good on your workbench.Easy to change sandpaper, or buy an adapter kit and switch to hook and loop (er.

Talk about impressive, all of us students stood behind the tried and true Black&Decker-U.S. well, it was through that experience, that I currently own 3 of them. I would not, but, Makita has made true classic,it's still around. My introduction to this 1/4 sheet Makita sander was High school Woodshop in the fall of 1980. Do I recommend torture testing your new Makita sander as my old teacher did.

Our teacher purchased several of these sanders for the classroom use and was so impressed by them that he actually pushed down on the sander while it was running (both hands) to get it stop or stall out,it would not. made 1/2 sheet aluminum body sander, and any other U.S. made item, far superior. How wrong we were.(youth)So what does this 29 year old story have to do with this sander.

I have had one for 15 years and it still works as good as the day I bought it. never needing servicing or replacement.Good tools will last you a lifetime and this is a good tool.

I put my old Makita to rest after years of great service and replaced it with another, Makita BO4552KX 1.6 Amp 1/4 Sheet does a great job and unlike my former sander they really improved the ease of changing sand paper.

The clamping mechanisim for the sand paper works fine, I've had no problems with slippage. Dust Collection isn't bad, never seen one that's 100% yet. Picked one of these up at an estate auction and it is a fine tool to work with. Works fast and has not left any swirl marks on any of my projects. All in all an excellent finish sander. Its easy on the hand and does not vibrate like the B&D I also own, which is a hand killer.
