If I had to do it over again, I'd spend the extra money and get a professional grade one that's larger and is made of stainless steel. The veggie/fruit holder is weak and doesn't effectively hold anything you try to slice. This thing got a lot of great reviews, but it's highly overrated. The slicer is fairly small making it difficult to cut large onions while they're still whole. Thankfully, Amazon makes the return process pretty easy. Sure, you can cut them, but that doesn't work as well if you like nice round slices for a burger or for onion rings.

It's very easy to clean. I've used all three blades and have been happy with the results every time. Since I bought the slicer, I've used it at least twice a week. I bought this item about two months ago. Like many others, I keep it in the storage box on my counter.


I really love it. I rinse it under hot water and let it dry in the drying rack. The slices are perfect every time. The blades are VERY sharp, so be sure to always use the guard.


Just need a knife to finish the job. Every time you take out one of them, it also scratches the plastic on the inside, not only scraping the plastic but also dulling the blades. Made in Germany.You can slice thin or thick. In regards to construction, it seems to be well made with good quality materials. One without a blade for slicing, and the 2 blades for julienne.


If you search, it is available on Amazon around eight to fifteen bucks. There is a small direction/manual booklet which is a bit confusing as it is written in multiple languages on the same pages. To switch thickness, all you have to do is flip the triangular insert. We have to figure out how to unpack it and how to switch the blades. To do that, you will have to slice the vegetable beforehand prior to running it to the mandoline.


Thin slices is perfect for making potato chips, and the thick slices are great for tomatoes. I read that it can be a good idea to get one those kevlar gloves. The later , is also great for chopping onions. Although it looks simple, trying it for the first time is not that simple.


This thing is dangerous and I will not let it lay on the kitchen counter or anywhere accessible to kids. Packaging is a bit underwhelming as it is boxed in a thin cardboard; not so good if you want to present it as a gift. My wife and I love this.


Good thing, some of the most important instruction is permanently imprinted on the mandoline itself. You can also do dicing but it is not very practical. (It also feel like scratching a board with your nails every time you remove and replace them).


Although the main blade is hidden with the built-in locking storage, the two triangular blades are just sitting on the pocket. It is actually a nice looking kitchen gadget. You also have two choices for making julienne, the bigger blade with wider gaps is what you use for making french fries, while the smaller blade works great for carrots.


I prefer, cutting it first with the bigger blades and then cut them square with a regular knife.We are satisfied with the quality and the usefulness; although I still think it is a little over priced. To clean it, I just rinse it under the faucet and wiggle it a bit to throw excess water out.All in all you have 3 triangular plastic inserts.


Changing out each blade whenever you would like a different cut is not as convenient as simply turning a dial to change it on other models. This mandoline was purchased as a gift for my brother who does a lot of cooking. It's pretty easy to use and the blades are incredibly sharp. However, I'm quite satisfied with the product overall and I believe it's a good value. I highly recommend using the guard when slicing anything.
