User Comments about the Milwaukee 6740-20 6.5 Amp Screwdriver

The cut-off adjustment is quick and easy to adjust and stays put. Light-weight, and made in America with a long heavy-duty cord. This gun has tons of torque for putting in long or short screws. Fast enough to make quick work of sheetrock and synthetic decking even with the new no-bulge decking screws.

I bought this screw gun to replace my first one- a Milwaukee that I bought in 1989. It is just as good, and even better the ergonomics are better than my old one.

It took me 2 or 3 bit changes to find the one that didn't get stuck on the screw head after driving a box of coated screws. I bought this screwdriver after I returned the Dewalt I was using previously. The Dewalt started to make gear grinding after the first bit change (the magnet shaft came out with the bit) so I looked around and bought the Milwaukee. The depth setting works great I screwed 10 sheets of plywood down and never had to reset the depth setting. This gun feels better and lighter then the Dewalt did but the only issue I had was the bit that came with it.

Sets screws the same depth no matter if it is run slow or fast. 446-2X). I would recommend using APEX bits made by Cooper Tools as I have best luck with them (avg 30,000 screws with 1/4" impact driver before wear is showing with their X suffix bits ie. Although I hate corded tools I must say this tool is light weight and powerful. The adjustment is easy to set. I would recommend this Milwaukee 6740-20 6.5 Amp Screwdriver to any DIYer and/or weekend contractor. If there is a down side to the tool it would be the factory bit that comes with it but as with most tools, the accessories supplied usually are not the best.

deck on the back of our house. My brother was helping us and he was using a Bosch cordless impact driver. My wife bought this screw gun for me upon my request. That worked pretty well but the Milwaukee screw gun got the screws in much quicker and quieter. ft. The plastic depth set was extremely useful and durable. It had plenty of power and never hesitated.

The first project we used it for was to build a 250 sq. We were installing 1X6 treated deck boards into treated 2X6's. This is my first Milwaukee tool and I am very satisfied with it. It also has a very sensitive trigger so you can ease one in when you have to.
