The seller failed to send the table insert as shown in the product photograph, I wrote to Amazon and received no reply. Klaus The photograph of the item shows three components and the ad refers to a kit. In Amazons request for a packing evaluation I mentioned that one piece was missing.Walter H.

It seems to be well made and has a good feel to it. In fact I agree with most of the other reviews. I recommend you order one as well. It is my opinion that the table insert is worth the ten bucks. I just received my spindle assembly and was very impressed with it. However, when I unpacked it, I looked for the missing table insert. (Jet 709539) After research, I discovered it is optional.While I admit the table insert is optional for larger pieces, most of us are safety conscience and wouldn't consider working with something that put our hands in danger.

Great forstraight edges. Comes with one sleeve. It is heavy and well made. It was a wait to obtain. Sleeves are also tough to find other than from Jet. Seems to have limited availability.

The advantage to having a larger drum is that it creates a flatter surface where the crown meets with the wood. Not really, with a careful technique, you can accomplish it with the smaller spindles, but it definitely makes it easier. Is the 3" spindle neccessary. This 3" spindle assembly is substantially larger, and heavier than the standard spindles which comes with the Jet Benchtop Osciallating spindle sander. That creates a smoother surface on larger pieces. Highly recommended. The smaller spindles that come with the unit, range from the 2" on down to the smallest ones, which are great for getting into smaller corners etc, but on a large flat or gradual curved surface they can create dimples in the surface if you don't keep the material moving.

This kit gives you a whole different range of capability with your Jet sander. With this kit, your sander tackles a much broader range of tasks.When sanding smooth, flowing curves (like the curvature in a bandsawn box, for instance), the added diameter of this piece keeps the sander from gouging troughs in your workpiece.I highly recommend it. Take this kit, put your sander on a stable tool stand, and then pat yourself on the back for the money you saved by not buying a floor model sander.
