User Comments about the Makita HM0810B 11-Pound Demolition Hammer

the HM0810B is the best, lightweight hammer on the market. This is the hammer that should be used for chiseling, chipping and scaling, NOT the HK1810, which should only really be used for removing tile and plaster. 2900 blows per minute, with a weight of only 11.7lbs.

apparently the hammer I reviewed is a genuine Makita. I regret my error.

After years (20) of use of this and other models and brands, this particular model makita still stands head and shoulders above all others for both performance and durability in the hard daily use of the log home industry. Or have it created for you (spendy). It has suplanted all other makes and models to become the industry standard. Still it(and virtually all others) require minor modification in this application: Lose the sappy varro-handle, and create your own 2-3"x long log gouge.
