But I reach for this square first to lay it out and follow up with the laser to send the line to the other side of the job and layout the grid, when tiling.4. Methinks it's nice to flex rather than break or get a permanent bend. Folds up to next to nothing, and is thus very easy to store (standing on end or on a rack, shotgun style)2. Use a laser you say. Saves time (and thus saves or earns money for the user)5. No, I'll make my own with PVC pipe.2.
Got 'em. (OK, with popcorn)6. Good size - it's large enough to give you a good reference to extend that square line on a big jobCons:None apparent so farOther thoughts:1. But wait, that would only increase the price. That kind of time saved is worth pizza and treats for your honey, in my book. It would be nice if they offered as an option a snazzy case.
Perhaps, based on your frequency of use. Portable and easy to use - the push button action to unlock to open or close is a cinch3. Flatness: It lays flat enough, I reckon. Quality: The tool is flexy, as some other reviewers have noted. The tool's been good to me. On the whole, I would make this purchase again in a second. For me, it has not only earned its keep by paying for itself, but it has saved countless hours of my and my crew's time. A quick breakdown:Pros:1.
Inexpensive (see #4 above) This is as much as going to the movies with my wife and kid. I've been using this tool for carpentry and tile jobs for two years now and it has paid for itself many times over. Storage: Mine was shipped in a stout fiber tube that it lives in to this day, though it's getting a little soft at the ends. It lays pretty flat if you lay it on the side that the button is NOT on. I haven't found this to be a problem. Also, at my age any minutes I save not being on my knees calculating squareness with pencil and tape measure means not going to the knee doctor quite so soon.
Easy and instant way to square your job or check for existing state of squareness (my daughter may think I pass this last test all too well)4. Through many, many jobs and repeated use, I have yet to experience any lack of accuracy or permanent kinks. Value: Too expensive. 3.
It has never been easier to do my measurements. When I am wood working I have to be precise.CH Hanson 34512 A-Square 3 x 4 x 5 Folding Layout Triangle Package I never have to worry now, I can cut out my creations without worrying that it's off somewhere.
I was not impressed with the flimsy design of this square. I does seem to be accurate, but I am unsure how long it will stay that way with repeated use.
However, when I picked it up from my porch it literally fell out of the factory cardboard packaging tube. A good tool deserves proper packaging. CH Hanson please note. This Hanson aSquare is a replacement for a previous tool that "walked off" a job-site. Three rivets or staples on each end would have prevented this problem at minimal cost.
I was pleased to have this well made item arrive as it is frequently used in my Ceramic Tile business. Both ends of the tube had been taped closed with clear packaging tape, and both factory plastic "plugs" were missing. The pointed ends of this aluminum tool had of course torn through the tape and the tips were damaged from handling. This was only a slight annoyance as a few moments with a file removed the burrs.
Product was delivered quickly but the package was damaged, this needs to be corrected. The tool seemed to be ok but there is no way to see how accurate it is.CH Hanson 34512 A-Square 3 x 4 x 5 Folding Layout Triangle Package
