On more than one occasion I thought it was charging only to find when I wanted to use it that it had come partially unplugged. I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes out of it. This model doesn't hold a charge long enough to finish most projects and takes up to 4 hours to recharge. The battery pack fits poorly to the unit and easily pops out. Quality and design is far below what I expected from Dremel. The charger is bottom-heavy with the battery inserted which can cause the plug to lose contact with the wall outlet.
This rotary tool is great. It carries a charge and does not lose power for a long time. It is quiet and powerful.
The charge lasts through two uses (at least 2-3 weeks in between). I read the reviews on this and the other 'trendy' dog groomers and decided to purchase the dremel over the so-called pet groomers. I purchased this to trim my dogs nails as I don't like to use the cutters (too worried about nipping the quick). This tool works great and my dog doesn't mind having her nails trimmed with it. I would purchase this again. I only need to use the 'low' speed.
I also ordered the extra battery but don't think I really need it because I can use my tool for 20 or 30 minutes at a time and the original battery has not gone dead yet. I ordered the dremel tool to grind the edges of my concrete leaves that I sandcast. I love it. I love the case also because I know where all the accessories are when ever I need them. It is the perfect tool for the job and saves me tons of time and energy.
I am very pleased I had followed the suggestion, because another less powerful would not have worked on him.I would definitely reccomend this for large dog owners who want to do the job quickly. I purchased this specifically for our Bassett Hound's nails, which are massive. I had read a review of it from another purchaser that suggested it for large dogs. I certainly didn't have to struggle with him, which also made the job so much easier. Well, it really does the trick and quickly too.
