The tool itself is a very fine product and easy to use. Of course, dog (a white lab) doesn't think so. This is a very nice tool - well made and with the lowest of the two speeds I should be able to file my dog's nails down with ease. We have been trying for weeks but he still looks at the Dremel with great suspicion. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is that it does not have a variable speed feature. I will update this report when and if I have any success.
On the low speed, this is the absolute PERFECT tool for keeping their nails nicely trimmed and without any sharp edges. This is one of my absoulte MUSTS for doggie ownership. One charge lasts plently long enough for me to do all three of my dogs. I have three giant breed dogs (one American Mastiff and two English Mastiffs). It's very quiet, so it doesn't frighten the dogs. Very highly recommended. They sit still for dremeling (one actually falls asleep), which they never do if I use the traditional nail clippers.
This is an excellent small tool that works as it should, and with a very reasonable (low) price. I have found it to be very handy tool, light weight and of course cordless.
I purchased this to trim my dog's nails like others have recommended. Sent back immediately for a refund. Not only did my dogs HATE it (they are 70 pound german shepherd/boxer mix and a 50 pound Basenji mix), but it didn't even work properly. The highest setting didn't work not to mention that it was just poorly made.
I bought this tool to trim my dogs' nails and it works great. Otherwise, I highly recommend this item. It is not too bulky to hold and is powerful enough to trim them quickly. You do need to be careful of any hair around the paw as it can catch on the tool.
