This item, the Shop-Vac 90304 Dry/Wet Cartridge Filter substitutes adequately for the Vacuum Filter Alton AT18017 (5.5HP, 7gal stainless steel, wet/dry Vac) [.]. The dimensions of the cartridge are the same as the original minus less of a collar on the top side for the clips but clipped as needed. The lid on the bottom used to tighten for other products needs a little adhesive when installed because of its generic nature for many products of similar cartridge.

I have a Shop Vac wet dry vacuum and these filters must be replaced every couple of years. It works.

A reasonable price for a second filter. Some of the other vacuum cleaners, the second filter costs over 1/2 the price of a new vacuum; like home depot.
