If you haven't bought a level in a while, you'll be amazed at how much this dynamo can do. For example, the built-in magnets enable you to position the level on metal surfaces or on the nails in wood studs without worrying about slippage. Also, the large V-groove along the top of the level allows you to rest it solidly on pipes up to 10 inches in diameter. Plus, one end is tapered at 45 degree angle, making it easy to hold the level against a diagonal surface. Other features include a 4-vial system with horizontal, vertical, 45 degree, and 30 degree viewing options and a waterproof/shockproof body (the body comes with a lifetime guarantee, by the way). so here i am thinking i got a really good deal on my new checkpoint level, but that was short lived when i saw that it was NOT made in the U.S.A. checkpoint use to make their products using american labor but now they sank to lower levels like the other companies who look for CHEAPER labor in foreign countries to manufacture their products. i was very excited to get my new Checkpoint level in the mail. As a proud union member of the IBEW, i will double check next time i purchase anything to make sure it is made in the U.S.A. and not to mention, it looked pretty cool. it's no wonder our economy is in the tank. anymore.

afterall, the price was great and it had all the features i needed and a very strong magnet. i was very disappointed to see that checkpoint levels are NOT a product of the U.S.A. and so should you. what happened to this company.

The bubble is not big enough. There is too much room between the lines and the bubble allowing for too much variance in maintaining level.

This level will not fall off while you are using it. Get this level and you will never use another level again. This is a very big plus in my book.

When the bubble is centered in the horizontal position it is actually not level. It is not accurate. That makes it very hard to tell if the bubble is in the center. To make matters even worse, the bubble is small and the lines are far apart so the bubble doesn't touch the lines. Do not buy this level. I returned the first one I received and got a replacement. I placed it on top of a large contractor's level just to be sure, and the bubble was way off center on this one when the contractor's level bubble was centered. The second was just as bad as the first.

I can't use this thing for running conduit. It was significantly off when reversed. A few days after I bought this level brand new I noticed that the 0 degree vial was not true. I sent it in to Checkpoint for warranty repair and received someone else's well-worn "refurbished" level in return. Too bad; I like the magnets. Now, two months later, the 90 degree vial is off.
