One of the wheels wobbled. Amazon's return policy is excellent. Bad QA. I returned it.
It's got loads of power, runs smooth and quiet and like the Energizer Bunny, keeps going and going and going.I use this with a grinding wheel on one side and a coarse wire wheel on the other. This one did not disappoint. It's a solid tool at a solid value. But, 3 years later with scores of hours of use, it still works like it did right out of the box. I bought this grinder to replace a 6" Craftsman unit that just didn't have the power to do what I needed. The grinder will take down anything I've thrown at it; the wire wheel will bear down on anything, stripping automotive frame paint like it was nothing. No regrets here. It's a tool I can rely on, and that's what matters.I, too, read the warning about bearing lubrication.
This bench grinder is my fourth major DeWalt toy. DeWalt power tools are definitely worth their premium price. So far, I've never been disappointed.
Use the supplied ones for rough work and buy a couple of Norton stones they run true from the box. For the price it is a good value. The tool rest is ok but only supported by the side guard, a little shaky but still ok. I am satisfied with the tool over all and the smaller diameter motor gives plenty of clearance for longer items. There wer no missing parts or scratches. I don't think any of these grinders come with good stones.
I bought this on impulse to sharpen my chisels and plane irons. It is relatively quiet and does exactly what it should - grinds. What an idiot I am - it is much too fast and rough for that kind of work but as a pure and simple grinder is a very well-built machine. I have had no issues with wheel wobble.
