The DEWALT DW756 Heavy Duty 4 Amp 6-inch Bench Grinder comes with a powerful 5/8 HP induction motor for heavy-duty grinding operations. There's a 12-1/2-inch distance between wheels for longer and larger grinding applications, and precision-machined adjustable aluminum tool rests allow the user to accurately position work. Rear exhaust ports in the wheel guards provide smooth operation. Backed by a manufacturer's 3-year limited warranty, this grinder measures 15 inches long and weighs 28-1/2 pounds. This grinder comes with a 36 grit wheel, a 60 grit wheel, eye shields, spark deflectors, tool rests, and an adjusting wrench.

User Comments about the DEWALT DW756 6-Inch Bench Grinder

To hold the blade correctly without having the motor in the way, is a problem.Making the proper angle consistent with the length of the blade needs to be deliberated. The grinder works as stated. This is the first grinder I owned. The more familiar I am, the better it will be. Therefore, I need time to try it for a better response.

This bench grinder was easy to assemble and comes with everything that you need. Used it to sharpen my lawn mower blades and it works excellent.

After looking closely, I found that the course wheel was close to an 1/8" out of balance. After mounting to my bench and turning on, the grinder had a terrible vibration, enough to make tools vibrate off my work bench. Good tool rests.Cons: Very bad wheel wobble. Pros: Seems like a very strong unit. The grinder seemed to be built strongly. When I tried to remove the wheel, I found that it was impossible to remove the wheel cover with first unbolting the grinder from my bench due to it having 2 screws that go in from the bottom. Unnecessarily hard to remove/replace the wheels due to the design of the wheel covers. I decided to return it and look for a better, more user friendly alternative.

I installed a 6" diameter wire brush on one side and could not keep the arbor nuts tightened. It's very difficult to use the grinding wheels as they are located too close to the motor housing. This was not my favorite Dewalt purchase. There is not a lot of room to manuever your work. I should have saved up and Spent the extra money to purchase a Baldor grinder. The other downside is that the motor diameter is almost the same as the grinding wheel itself.

I like the idea of clamping a small piece of metal, and then grinding away, rather than having my fingers close to the grinding wheels. Also, there is no speed control. This is a good grinder as far as grinders go, but not particularly useful for everyday use. I only use it for sharpening my lawn mower blade. That means you can not use it to sharpen anything that you care about, as the speed is way too fast. This is likely the least used tool in my shop. For small jobs, I have switched to a Dremel.
