I would go further to say that this product should probably *not* be used on any part of the face whatsoever. Those places, for sure. I can't be the first raw oozing citizen to make this simple sanding mistake. I received a full case of extra-strength calamine lotion for my birthday recently, and decided to give it a test run. I might suggest to the manufacturer that a 'do not use near eyes, cheeks or external ear danglies' warning be placed directly on the packaging, or on the paper itself.
I wouldn't want to be doused in some topical irritant or caught in a crazy mild eczema emergency and not know how much to apply.I'd heard that sandpaper can be successfully used to cause skin irritation -- fraternity hazing rumors back in college, mostly -- and based on other positive reviews, decided to give this product a try.I learned a few things on my first usage of the product, the most important being that 'ORBITAL SANDERS' ARE NOT MEANT FOR THE ORBITAL BONES AROUND THE EYES. Certainly not the eyes. Or the cheeks. Or what's left of the earlobes.
If you take one off to change grit, it won't stay on at all if you try to use it again. They would if I could get them to stay on the sander. The reviews said the Mirka discs lasted a long time. I have used many different brands of discs and have never had this problem before. Bad product. The velcro on the back seems to be very thin and seems to stay on the sander about 15 to 20 min.
This does what it's supposed to and does it well. They use good sand particles that adhere well and enough of them so it wears well, (you may not go through as many as other brands) the velcro holds properly and the holes line up perfect. I use on my Bosch sander and it sticks good and gives me good usage.
These were purchased for my Bosch orbital sander. So much better than anything I found at the Big Box stores, who never really have a wide selection of anything decent. They work great, especially if one remembers to start and stop the sander when it is on the wood. Otherwise it could come flying off after some use; but when used diligently as directed, works great.
Talk about FAST cutting and clean. I bought several grits and used them on different woods and projects. You'll stock up on it, just like I did. And it easily lasts three times as long as the hardware store stuff does.Try it. Now THIS is sandpaper. Trust me,once you use this stuff you'll never waste money buying three sheets of domestic stuff for $5. Great product. Look at how many sheets of this stuff you get for the price.
