Absolutely the best blade I have used in my circular saw. It was worth the extra money to have a blade that does the job. Easily cut wet treated lumber. Not sure about how long the blade will do a good job, but so far this has been the best blade I have used.
The thin kerf made for much faster cutting than normal framing blades. If i was using regular blades i would have used at least six. These blades a truley worth the extra few dollars because they last twice as long as other blades. I puchased a few of these blades before framing a four story hotel. I just returned to the site to build the canopy and pulled out my last blade and am still blown away by the speed and the quality of the cut.
Since I handle stair stringers and headers for the project, I needed something that could cut fast, true, and last. I was amazed at what a difference a 1/16th of an inch could do. The first cut sealed the deal for me and the good thing was it kept its razor sharp edge for weeks. The project lasted 12 weeks and I went through three of these bad-boys.
The only blades that have come close is the Oldham blades, but they still need some fine tuning. If so please contact me. All the coatings fly right off within the first 2 minutes of cutting. My company purchases over 30,000 blades a year, and we have yet to find a blade that gives us the durability, consistency and reliability that a 200 homes per year builder demands. I am a building contractor for over 20 years, and I've been looking for a quality blade that does not burnout or warp so quickly.
Does anyone manufacture a smooth blade. So I purchased a few of these Freud blades, and once again I have been let down. Overall, builders need a smoother blade that does not heat up as fast. I will purchase volume (as I'm sure any contractor would do with such a product) All saw blade manufacturers try to coat the sides of blades in some form or another.
