The back wheels lock tightly and the front wheel locks good enough. It is a very strong and sturdy frame. This fits my Jet JJ-66CS very well. My only complaint is my base didn't come with instructions. As others have noted the front wheel could be better, but overall well pleased. However, the base is simple to put together and only couple a couple extra minutes of thinking and fitting.
Install instructions are not written well with poor graphics. Instructions need to be rewritten. Received floor stop assembly and nowhere in the install instructions did it explain where to but the stop or to even install it. Went to HTC website to look at the mobile base picture and there I saw where it is attached.
The jointer would not have been worth the price if I couldn't move it around. This is a heavy duty, well built base. It makes a jointer a much more useful tool by allowing you to store it out of the way when you don't need it. This mobil base is kinda high priced, but worth it. Jointers are in that category of indispensable tools, but not a tool that is used too often.
I had tried another brand mobile base for my Jet Jointer. This unit fits perfect and is very stable and easy to move around. Don't waste your money on any universal base.
Quality mobile base and easy to assemble. I feelthis helps cut down on some vibration. The only thing I addedwas a 3/16" thick rubber mat that my 6" jointer sit's on.
