Editorial Reviews:

Power polishers help cars, boats, floors--or anything else you take a shine to--come clean. The Makita polisher uses electronic speed control to maintain a constant 600 to 3,000 rpm, even under load, and that combined with multiple speed settings results in little risk of burning paint. The polisher converts easily to a sander, and quick-change hook-and-loop sanding pads eliminate clamping, bending, and tucking. We like how the handle provides secure, comfortable grips for use at any angle, and the lock-on trigger means you can go long distances with minimum fatigue. The 10 amp motor provides plenty of power, and, as with all Makita products, it's designed for long life, with easily accessible brushes that can be changed outside of the tool's housing. If you like to maintain a flawless faade, this tool deserves a place in your arsenal.

User Comments about the Makita 9227C 7-Inch Hook and Loop Electronic Polisher/Sander

I liked it so much I bought a second for home and as a backup for work.Amazon really does have a great price on it. It's got a great feel and easy to change positions. I'm an automotive painter and have used all types and brands of polishers and this unit is without competition my favorite. It's electronic controls has a nice soft start which keeps the polisher from jerking to full speed which could cause loss of your grip or sling compound all over.So far I've put roughly 2000 hours on my first one changing the stators only once and swapping out the chord 3 or 4 times since I bought it 6 years ago. I bought both of mine for close to $300 from the Cornwell salesman. There's a little gear noise but everything runs smooth, so smooth I feel comfortable using it one handed on large flat panels.

I found this polisher to be very easy to use and control. Spent an entire day polishing my sailboat.Nice.

I buffed cars for 10 yrs at a dealership with this beast, best around in my opinion

Great Product - I spent weeks doing research on buffer/polishers. Highly Recomend. My issue was keeping my Jaguar in showroom condition and rejuvenating a 2004 Escalade that my son did not take care of.In both cases phenominal results. This seller was by far the best price with great service.

Great tool, lighter than the DeWalt (the other industry standard) and cheaper than the Flex. Can't go wrong with this one. Good enough for Paul Dalton and good enough for me (and you). Amazon has the best price.
