Editorial Reviews:

House Framing: Plan, Design, Build leads homeowners through the steps of building a structure by means of platform framing, the most popular style of framing in use today. Beginning with background information, the book then takes the reader through the framing process - from foundations to floor framing, wall framing, roof framing, sheathing, and more in over 650 color photographs and illustrations. This expanded and revised edition ends with three project chapters: building stairs, finishing a basement with steel studs, and framing a bay window. Each chapter covers both construction and design information.

User Comments about the Ultimate Guide to House Framing: Plan, Design, Build

Though I have done framing and building as a home owner all my life, it is alway good to keep learning and this is a book that keeps you up to date. I like it. It gives you good pictures and explanaations on how to handle some trickier framing problems.

Unbelievable book for the low price. This book came in time to complete a project. I haven't ever had to wait more than a few days for any books from Amazon.

the book has every thing you need to know, it has a lot of pictures and it's clear and easy to understand I haven't read it all to leave more details, but from reading here and there, i'd say it's a good book a good book

I am not a carpenter nor in the building industry. A very good resource for the money. I have built decks, but a building (shed) was beyond my ability. This book made it easy and I was able to understand all of the construction concepts presented.

I thought that this was a very good book especially for the novice carpenter or do-it-yourselfer. The only thing that I noticed as I was reading, was that a couple of the roof rafter calculations were incorrect, but they were not hard to figure out. This book is very informative with easy to understand pictures and drawings. It does not go too in depth on certain subjects, but it is still everything you need to at least get started on a project.
