I would have given it 5 stars but the DVD cracked the first time I took it out of the case - cheap plastic media and a really tight case. I am new to the world of table saws and find the video to be invaluable. I really liked seeing the walk through from basic saw setup to actual applications. I have worked with many saws but just never a table saw and all the stories and horror stories made me nervous. I also bought Taunton's Complete Illustrated Guide to Tablesaws and have found them both very helpful. I feel much more confident after watching this video (on my second time now).
I have an oldy but not to baddie, Craftsman saw which I purchased when I was more ignorant. If you are the type of woodworker who forms "Bad habits," or " forgets" as I do, this is a great toll to remind us to get back into better woodwork habits.Have owned this for awhile, and I reviewed it this morning as I don't have a 3-5 horspower shop saw. Production quality regarding sound is the only flaw in an otherwise excellent video. I will, but not now. It cuts well, and is belt driven. This video/DVD reminds me to do my maintenace, adjust the table saw components and that I don't need a lot of extras that I can't fabricate myself, until I can buy the "big one".This is a DVD that explains how to adapt my type of saw, adjust my type of saw, and take the most from it.I apologize for not writing sooner.Another goodie from Tauton who have been doing this for a long time That is why this DVD works for me.
I just finished watching this video for the first time, and I thought it was excellent in every respect. I am a beginner woodworker and I appreciate Taunton Press having made this DVD available. Kelly Mehler not only knows his subject, he knows how to explain the different ways to use the table saw in a clear way.
